What are Trigger warnings?

Content or trigger warnings are verbal or written notices that precede potentially sensitive or disturbing content.

That content might include graphic references to topics such as sexual abuse, self-harm, violence, eating disorders, and so on.

In a transcription context, the client delivers these messages in order to allow the transcriptionist to emotionally prepare for the content or decide to opt out of interacting with the content.

Common content warnings

• Self-harm and suicide

• Eating disorders, body hatred, and fat phobia

• Violence

• Pornographic content

• Kidnapping and abduction

• Homophobia and heterosexism

How can I specify a trigger warning on my transcription request?

When you request a new transcription request at Landmark, you will be requested to specify if your file has potential triggering content, if this is the case, please mark the checkbox just as shown in the image.

Checking this box will allow our team to review your file and to forewarn the transcriptionist in charge about the content of your project so that they can adequately engage.
